Jack and Jenny Quilt Instructions


Jack and Jenny Baby Quilt

Supply List and Cutting Instructions
.70 Donkey fabric - cut into 12 - 7” x 7” squares for blocks.
1 fat quarter EACH of grey and turquoise - cut into 12 - 1 1/4” x 7” and 12 - 1 1/4” x 8 1/2” for EACH colour for block frames.
.50 Yellow Dot - cut 20 - 2 1/2” squares from two 2 1/2” strips for cornerstones.
        •     cut 5 - 2 1/4” strips for binding
.60 Green Raindrop fabric - cut 8 - 2 1/2” strips recut into 31- 2 1/2” x 8 1/2” sashing strips
1.4 Boots fabric - cut 2 - 4 1/2” strips the width of the fabric (42”)
                          - cut 2 - 4 1/2” strips the remaining length of the fabric
Method:
  1. Sew the 1 1/4” x 7” frame fabrics to the sides of the blocks.  Press toward frame fabric.
  1. Sew the 1 1/4” x 8 1/2” frame fabrics to the top and bottom of the blocks.  Press seams toward the frame fabric.
  1. Sew the quilt top together using the cornerstones and sashes as per the photo.  Always press the seams toward the sashing fabric.
  1. Measure the Boot fabric side borders through the centre of the quilt and trim to size.  Sew to the quilt easing if necessary.  Press seams to border fabric.
  1. Sew the top and bottom Boot fabric borders.  Press seams to border fabric.
  1. Quilt in the ditch around sashings and frames.  Quilt a square in the centre of each block.
  1. Attach the yellow dot binding.
